Oil on canvas in good condition, mounted on an adjustable stretcher. Gender scene featuring two little girls and their dog. Well framed in a frame gilded with fine gold, this painting will be packaged and shipped by us with insurance.
Paul-Eugène Mesplès (1849-1924) is a French artist, nicknamed the "painter of dancers": a figure of the Montmartre de la Belle Époque, he was also an accomplished engraver and musician.
From 1880 he exhibited at the Salon and then, in 1881 at the Salon des artistes Français, and from 1884, at the Salon des Indépendants.
