Description
United States - Official US Army Soldiers French Language Guide - Airborne - Ranger - D-Day - Liberation of Europe - 1944
Original - Good condition

Up for auction is a nice 1944 copy of the United States Army Technical Manual TM 30-306 entitled "French: A Guide to the Spoken Language". It covers many useful French words and phrases as required for the D-day Invasion. This booklet has some black-and-white illustrations to accompany the instructional text; these booklets were issued to the troops just prior to the invasion of France during D-Day, to facilitate interrogation and communication of/between French resistance, French nationals, etc. Some French names have been written at the last page of the booklet, perhaps French nationals/soldiers that the soldier encountered?

Nice official and rare!! USA Army language guide that will be a great piece for your WW2 collection!

NOTE: Stripes on the photo's are not on the actual booklet itself, due to window reflection!
