Nice snow etching with a view of the Westertoren from the Eerste Leliedwarsstraat in the direction of the Bloemgracht.

The etching is signed by the artist in the lower right, with pencil.
Bottom left titled in pencil: Westerkerk.
Etching is ACID-FREE and framed with an acid-free mat and in the old/original mahogany frame of 1.5 cm wide.
Etching, mat are in very good condition.
The frame has small signs of wear.
Cornelis Brandenburg was born in 1884 in Wormerveer.
In the year 1902, he moved to Amsterdam and studied at the Teekenschool for Kunstambachten.
He worked at “De Distel” in Amsterdam as a painter of pottery.
Thereafter, he concentrated fully on etching and became the most important etcher of the canals of Amsterdam.
He produced over 100 etchings of Amsterdam and the archives of Amsterdam own more than 60 of them.
He died in Amsterdam in 1954.
A book was published with all his etchings.
