Offered by Major General Cann (originally from Bretagne, born June 13, 1932), François Cann was a graduate of Saint-Cyr and member of the Union Française (1952-1954).
In Algeria, he was in the 3rd RPC as section head (1956-1957) and then as commander of the 2nd company (1961 1963), after a stint at the CPIMa in Brazzaville (1958-1960).
He served twice in the 8th RPIMa (head EIB 1973-1975) and corps chief 1977-1979) in Castres and Lebanon (FI NUL 1978-1979).
Chief of Staff of the 11th Parachute Division 44th DMT (1979-1981), auditor of the CHEM IHEDN (1981-1982), he commanded the GAP in Albi, and as its leader, he was engaged in Beirut (FMSB 1983-1984). Adjunct to the FAR (1985 1987) and then head of the French military government in Berlin (1987-1990), he ended his career in 1992 at NATO, as head of the liaison mission.
Once wounded, six times cited as an Aeronautics medallist, Army Corps General François Cann is a Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour and a member of the Legion of Honour Council since 1991.
Retired near Castres, he has been president of the friendship asociation of veterans of the "8th" since July 1993. To Lieutenant-Colonel Rousseau, weight of the object with its wooden support covered with green felt: 760 grams. In Berlin on October 9, 1990.)
Damaged seal, another small fragment is separate in a bag, we can read on the red wax seal "French sector of Berlin", the commanding general..., aluminium plaque in front of the fragment, on the base is pasted a certificate of authenticity, damaged by moisture, but the information and the text are still quite legible in part...
I intercepted this piece before it went into the rubbish bin, hence the rather sad state of this historical piece...
