Djoscheghan - Carpet - 327 cm - 215 cm
Wool on cotton - Iran

Welcome to Passion d'Orient:

These rugs are hand-knotted in the city of Joshaghan, in central Iran. The city is known for its traditional way of making carpets, for the way that they are knotted, their design, and their bright and vivid colours. On these carpets, diamond-shaped medallion patterns are the most common, but there are also mina-khani, gül-i-henna and weeping willow patterns. The background is blue, beige or red, and recently made carpets are considered to be of good artisanal quality.
