France - luxury model - long barrel - SA - Percussion - Pistol - 14mm cal

Description
France - luxury model - long barrel - SA - Percussion - Pistol - 14mm cal
Excellent - 1840

Superb rare and large percussion pistol, long barrelled model from the Louis Philippe period (1830/1850)

It works well mechanically, with two well-synchronised notches and clear percussion.

- rectangular chest and trims made of gilded bronze chiselled with volutes
- superb steel barrel
- beautiful walnut butt with a small discreet and reinforcing repair (see photos), but solid
- cap in good condition

The ‘normal sized’ percussion shown in photo no. 2 is not included in the lot (it is only shown here in order to compare the size).

Very interesting and unusual pistol with a very long barrel, in its patina, with signs of wear and ageing but still beautiful and in good working condition (the pistol has clearly hardly been used).
