Prehistoric, Neolithic Sandstone Polishing stone for pearls - 4×6×11 cm - (1)
2500 - 2000 v. Chr. - Mauritania

Large polishing bench stone from Mauritania Near Kiffa, located in the south. With 2 agate beads that were common in this area and were worked with these polishing stones, and finely sanded. This was preceded by drilling and retouching, as the risk of breaking the pearl was very high during these steps.

Provenance: Old collection from France, Mr. Servaire from 1965.
