Erotica, Photography - Quantity: 1 - Limited edition - Book related object

EROTIK / PHOTO BOOK / JOHN EVERARD / FIRST EDITION / ACTIVE PHOTOGRAPHY / PHOTOGRAPHY / NUDITY / NUDISM / PHOTOGRAPHY / EROTICA / ENGLAND. Offered here is the very large format (31.5 x 25.5 cm) and with all 48 full-page illustrations. Complete first edition of a rare photo book from 1940. The photographs were taken by John Everard, who worked mainly as a nude photographer in London between the 20s and 60s. In 1939 Everard, who was self-taught, founded his own agency with his London rivals Walter Bird (1903-1969) and Horace Roye (1906-2002).

JOHN EVERARD / FIRST EDITION Nymph and Naiad. 48 full-page nudes in rotogravure.

CONDITION: Neat to still good, firm and quite clean copy. The sturdy binding is partly weakly spotted, but overall attractively preserved and nowhere defective. The inside on strong paper is free of stamps and inscriptions, but there is a faint brownish tinge throughout in the middle of the pages. With very many boards this does not play a role optically. Two plates have damages (plate 24 has partially detached itself from the fixation at the inner bar and has a tiny scratch in the motif / plate 40 has two tears in the middle / see photos). The endpapers are a bit foxed.
