Lesley Hornby was Twiggy and "the face" of the Swinging Sixties in London and got her nickname because of her spindly thin, youthful figure. She was considered the first teenage supermodel and her figure that she herself later on described as much too thin. According to the former chief editor of American Vogue, Diana Vreeland she had the perfect body of the time due to her thin calves, straight legs and small, narrow feet.
The most expensive beanpole in the world - or the icon of all top models, at least "Twiggy" made the miniskirt famous.
