Medieval Gold Luxury Enamelled Reliquary Decorative Box-Pendant inscribed with the abbreviation IHS (Iesus Hominum Salvator) characteristic and emblematic of the Jesuit Order a Potent Cross above and the Lily flower -symbol of the Virgin Mary who was the patron Saint of this so important Christian Order founded in 15th. of August 1534 in Montmartre (Paris). The letter H has an additional p seeing from the opposite direction which is actually an interesting monogram or ligature a mixture of the latin letter H and the greek letter P which actually are the first two letters from the name of Christ.
The presentation of the back side is very interesting with its symbols which acually gives the importance of this interesting box but the front part is important with it astonishing beauty masterfully placed colorful enamel to give the magnificent beauty of the owner of this small piece of art!
Some insignificant scratches, slightly wavy surface, missing small areas of the enamelled surface and one suspension loop, otherwise in Very Good Condition. and still Wearable! See Photo.
Exceedingly Rare and presumably belonged to the high positioned member of the order.
Purchased by the current owner in 2014 in Austria, Wien from Collector fair.
