Togatta Kokeshi - Tallest 39 cm (3)

Description
Togatta Kokeshi - Tallest 39 cm (3)
Japan - 1960 - 1985 - Hout

We offer three nice vintage traditional kokeshi. All three kokeshi follow the Togatta strain and are signed by the artisan. The two largest kokeshi are made by Kinu Asakura (1918-2018); a female artisan. The smallest one is made by Sato Fumio (1923-1986). This kokeshi is very special as it follows the Togatta strain but has hijori influences.

The heights of the kokeshi in this lot are (from left to right): 36 cm, 24,5 cm and 39 cm.

Kokeshi are wooden handmade artisanal dolls from Japan. Initially, they were intended as toys for the children. Later they became popular souvenirs and real decorative items, for some even collector items.

More information about traditional kokeshi, and the togatta style in specific, can be provided after purchase.

Fakapapa is a company specialized in trading kokeshi and we are based in the European Union. So, NO HIDDEN HIGH IMPORT TAXES WITHIN THE E.U.
