Roman school tapestry from a painting by Carlo Crivelli (Venice, 1430? - Ascoli Piceno, 1495) - Textiles - "Madonna and Child" XIXth Century

Description
Roman school tapestry from a painting by Carlo Crivelli (Venice, 1430? - Ascoli Piceno, 1495) - Textiles - "Madonna and Child" XIXth Century
Italy

The subject is framed by a rich border embellished with floral and fruit motifs, the artist who made this "cardboard" was certainly inspired by the masterpieces "Madonna con Bambino" by Carlo Crivelli. It bears the inscription "Ave Maria"on the front, written with a brush and not woven, while the wording on the back reads, "Carlo Crivelli 1482 - Roma copia di A. Giombini - Lungo Tevere Mellini 52 Roma" which is the artist who, obviously, made the tapestry.
The tapestry has been recently placed on a wooden stretcher and finished with a gold fabric border. We would recommend some conservation work and an accurate cleaning.

The item comes from a private collection, and is provided with certification in accordance with Italian law 64 D.L. 22/Gennaio/2004 n. 42 Codice dei Beni Culturali (Italy)

The work will be packed with care and shipped via Courier with insured parcel.
