Original red-brown flamed art deco storage box for chocolates, in good condition.
Bakelite chocolate box for Martougin chocolate.
Ribbed with a flamed pattern, also on the inside.
On the lid the inscription 'Bonbons Martougin' and an image of the Roman goddess Minerva.

Martougin was a chocolate factory in Borgerhout (Antwerp - Belgium), founded by Alfred Martougin in 1907 and acquired by Van Houten in the Netherlands in 1966.
Famous brands of Martougins chocolate were Minerva, Jemma, Galba, Bloc,...

The chocolate box was made in the well-known Ebena factory in Wijnegem, Belgium. They made beautiful decorative boxes in art deco style in the years 1921-1931.

Dimensions: 80 mm high. Diameter opening top: 160 mm, diameter base: 100 mm.
