A Near Eastern Western Asiatic gold bead, featuring an elongated, rhomboid shape. The bead’s body display a nice striate pattern, conveying a ribbed effect. The bead has been pierced longitudinally for suspension.
Such beads would have been part of elaborate necklace or bracelet. Jewellery played an important role across many Near Eastern civilisations. Gold necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets would have been worn in everyday life but also buried with the deceased.
