Pterosaur jaw - Siroccopteryx sp. - 52 mm

Pterosaur jaw - Siroccopteryx sp. - 52 mm
Late Cretaceous (93 - 100 mil y) - Kem Kem formation, Morocco

Jaw fragment from a flying reptile, with two teeth. Pterosaur fossils are particularly rare as their bones were lightweight, similar to birds nowadays, which meant their body weight was reduced to a minimum. This makes finding such a jaw fragment rather special.
