Late Cretaceous (93 - 100 mil y) - Kem Kem formation, Morocco

The Rebbachisaurus garasbae was named en described in 1954 by René Lavocat, after a discovery near Er Rachida in Morocco. The generic name refers to Ait Rebbach, the Berber tribe that inhabits the land of the finding. The species is named after the location of the finding: Gara Sba. This enormous four-footed herbivore had a small head, a long, elegant neck and a whip-like tail.
