Ancient Egyptian Faience Ring with faience Bes amulet - (1)
Late Period, 664-332 BC - Egypt

Ring with Egyptian polychrome faience amulet representing Bes, frontal-facing and in typical position with his hands on his hips. Nice green glaze with raised accents in a yellow glaze. Modelled similarly on both sides.

Bes was worshipped for his protective qualities. A friendly deity which was symbolised with laughter, music and dance granting him many different qualities.

The authentic Egyptian bead is set with decorative spacer beads on a contemporary ring (new) and is free to rotate (swivel).

Outside diameter: ±21,5 mm
Inside diameter: ±18,5 x 17 mm
Amulet: 17,5 x 9,9 mm
