Alessandro Mendini - Alessi - Espresso Coffee Maker - "Moka" AAM33

Description
Alessandro Mendini - Alessi - Espresso Coffee Maker - "Moka" AAM33
Italy - After 2000 - Aluminum casting, handle and knob in thermoplastic resin

The Moka Alessi espresso maker was designed by Alessandro Mendini in 2011. The Coffee maker is made of cast aluminium suitable for 3 cups. Aluminium gives espresso a characteristic flavor thanks to the gradual formation of a thin film of coffee on the inner walls of the coffee maker. Coffee prepared with an aluminium coffee maker has a fuller and more rounded flavor than one made with stainless steel

The espresso coffee maker is as new and never been used. Delivered with original packaging and manuals.

Designer:
Alessandro Mendini (1931 - 2019) studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. Afterwards he became a designer and editor-in-chief for several magazines. Mendini played an important part in the development of Italian, postmodern, and radical design by contributing new “values” and “sensibilities” into design that have been eclipsed by commercialism and functionalism. Mendini was awarded with several international prizes, including three times the Compasso d'Oro and the European Prize for Architecture.
