An extremely fine and rare ancient Egyptian large wooden tableau of a male worker seated on a rectangular base behind an oval oven with a frontal opening for bread and a separate lid. The figurine is wearing a shendyt kilt and holding a fan in the extended right hand, both arms are pegged to the body. Beautiful red pigmentation to the body and oven lid with painted details to the face.
Wooden tomb models were an Egyptian funerary custom throughout the Middle Kingdom Period, which saw wooden figurines and sets constructed to be placed in the tombs of Egyptian royalty.
