Lovely piece by Pascal Saint-Vanne aka Vladimir, of a lovely size.

Born in Verdun, France in 1956.

This self-taught artist never had any other passion than painting. He paints instinctively, it is an écorché with all that it can imply of suffering, pain, passion, frenzy, sensitivity, love and even humour.
His canvases become flesh and you are then in front of a torn, glued, reconstructed, nailed being crucified on the support that serves as a cross. Painting is not just a pretext. It is a means of bringing to the surface and thus materialising what is buried. His subconscious takes shape and becomes an image.

His inner eye sees martyred, crushed and abused beings. He paints them from his gut in a frenetic, impressive, masterful way.
