Richard Sapper - Alessi - Coffeemakers (3) - 9090

Richard Sapper - Alessi - Coffeemakers (3) - 9090
Italy - 1970-1979 - Stainless steel

Lot of coffee makers in 18/10 stainless steel.

Alessi model 9090, designed by Richard Sapper.

The first coffee maker by Alessi, winner of the 'Compasso d'Oro' award.

The first coffee maker that doesn't unscrew but opens by lifting the handle.

The lot consists of the coffee maker for 1 cup, the 3 cup and the 6 cup version.

The 6 cup version is new, never used, the 3 cup is hardly used and in very good condition and the 1 cup has been used more and has some signs of wear and small marks on the handle. It is recommended to change the inner seal.

See attached photos.

Height: 20, 17 and 15 cm

The 9090 is not only the first espresso coffee maker in Alessi's history but also the first of many 'Compasso d'Oro' awards, and the first item to go on display at MOMA in New York.
"I wanted to give this machine a performance that others do not have." With these words Richard Sapper described the idea from which he started.
The 9090 is original not only for its unusual shape, but also for some functional innovations, such as the enlarged base that allows you to make the most of the heat, the anti-drip spout and the closure with the lever that allows you to open it with a simple gesture of the hand.
Extraordinary piece that can make the difference in collections or exhibitions of coffee machines as well as among other kitchen utensils.
The photos are an integral part of the description, which, more than any word, attest to the features, beauty and condition of the object, which in my opinion are very good.
The coffee maker will be carefully packaged in shockproof material and shipped worldwide with tracking.
