Septober Energy is the only album of the jazz/progressive rock big band Centipede.
Produced by Robert Fripp (KING CRIMSON) and under the musical direction of Keith Tippett.
The album was recorded at Wessex Studios, London during three days in June 1971. The album is a four-part suite consisting of four tracks of about 20 minutes each all named Septober Energy.
In Centipede a lot of musicians gathered that would be succesfull in jazz/rock. On this record you will find for example Ian Carr and Karl Jenkins (Nucleus) Elton Dean, Alan Skidmore and Robert Wyatt (Soft Machine) and Ian MacDonald, Robert Fripp, Pete Sinfield and Buz Burrell (King Crimson), Brian Godding (Blossom Toes) Julie Tippett (formaly knows as Julie Driscoll ) Mike Patto, Zoot Money and Keith Tippett.
