Beautiful ceramic pot with lid, La Céramique Montoise Bergen, in Mons. Belgian origin, dates from 1920’s.
Adorable, lovely pot, featuring floral motifs, numbered 335. Marked on the base.
Marvellous polychromed with tulip decor, in pink, lilac, blue tones.
In great condition, features expected age signs, a smal flaw inside of lid and an almost invisible hairline on the pot.
Earthenware from Mons, in Bergen, where La Céramique Montoise was founded in 1920, by Antoine Dubois, Henri and Felix Souweine, Jules Deprez and Samuel Wolff. It operated until 1949, later would be administered by René Dubois, son of the founder.
La Céramique Montoise mainly manufactured Art Deco ceramics and some of its pieces even go beyond the Art Deco style, already into a semi-modernist style.
