Kokeshi (3)
Japan - 1960 - 1985 - Hout

We offer three nice vintage kokeshi. All three of them depict a lovely Japanese scene. These dolls have that natural feeling to them as the bark is still visible.

Kokeshi are wooden handmade artisanal dolls from Japan. The most prevalent theory is that they appeared during the Tempo period (1830 - 1843) in the mountainous Tohoku region. Initially, they were intended as toys for the children. Later they became popular souvenirs and real decorative items, for some even collector items.

The heights of the kokeshi in this lot are (from left to right): 26 cm, 30 cm and 24 cm.

Fakapapa is a company specialized in trading kokeshi and we are based in the European Union. So, NO HIDDEN HIGH IMPORT TAXES WITHIN THE E.U.
