Etching from:
Capricci di varie figure di Iacopo Callot - The Nancy set - 1621

A series very sought after. It marks a date in the art of engraving, the first series done by Callot, using the hard varnish of the luthiers of Florence, instead of the tender varnish hitherto employed by the engravers. It is a marvel of composition and drawing, a prodigy of engraving, of an incomparable finesse and charm.

A very good early impression trimmed just outside plate border and pasted on an old laid paper collection sheet..
