Old Salomon Islands spear top, Bougainville Islands.
Nippa palm wood, "Kagoi" symbolizes the spirit that gives the spear its deadly power. The knobs called "uiru" (consisting of leaf fibres that are closely pressed together) which are symbolizing the spirits dwelling.

Superbe state of preservation, beautiful tightly bound with traditional woven plaited.
Designs of yellow and red orchid fibre with woven shaft bulb still in place.

The spear was cut from a larger spear.

Measures 151 cm or 59,44 inches.
