Discovered in the province of Labrador, labradorite has always been shrouded by legends, such as that of the Eskimo warrior who freed the northern lights trapped inside. For its shimmering colours and metallic reflections known as labradorescence, it is highly appreciated and used in jewellery and in the decorations of the house or office. Stone with multiple properties, it is frequently used in crystal therapy.
A curiosity: traces of labradorite have been found in some meteorite fragments.
