Salvador Dalí - Biblia Sacra

Description
Salvador Dalí - Biblia Sacra
Lithograph - Not signed - 1499

Biblia Sacra vulgatae editionis.
A total of 105 printed plates (colour lithograph).
Latin text.
Light brown editorial morocco binding.
Each volume is preserved in a single case with light brown morocco profiles and light green moire silk boards. Some slight signs of ageing on bindings but preserved in very good condition.

1,499 copies of the “Luxus” edition, printed on laid paper. The work was commissioned to Dalí in 1963 by Giuseppe Albaretto, a devout and fervent supporter of the Catholic Church, who hoped in this way to bring his artist friend closer to God. Dalí finished the illustrations in 1969. Their style is rich both in the variety of contents and in the colours; some beautiful plates also have glossy black or golden details.
