Paisley shawls were a fashionable item of women's clothing in the 19th century made of intricately woven and delicate wool. Although known as the Paisley pattern the teardrop motif originated from Persia and Kashmir becoming popular in Europe and England.

This is a very large Kani wool throw. Can be used as a floor covering or wall hanging. Large tapestry. Very intricate weaving.

This Paisley shawl displays extensive boteh foilage in each border. Arabesque designed field predominately in tan and burnt orange tones. Cream natural ground.

The shawl has an amber like colour palette that remains vivid despite age and usage.
