The Raadvad company has been famed for its production of high-quality knives, blades and kitchen implements since 1758. Their iconic bread slicer was produced in Denmark in its modern form from before the second-world-war, becoming a classic of Danish design. The slicer is no longer in production, but you can still own one of these fantastic machines. Although it can be used simply for decoration, for example as a book-rack — at home, in a cafe, shop or restaurant — it is still fully functional.
This fine machine is made from cast iron, steel and wood, according to Ove Larsen's original design, probably being produced in the 1970s-1980s.
The original white paint is in good condition with some patina (photos). The guillotine blade is excellent. It can slice breads, cheese, soap, fruits or flowers.
A wonderful classic kitchen implement or charming decoration.
