Grinding jug, oversized pewter jug with depictions of saints (1) - Tin
An oversized grinder jar / pitcher. On the lid a lion holding a shield with coat of arms. Marked Jacob Koch and the year 1570.
On the edge of the jug an engraved text in Latin: MEI*TU*ES*PASTOR*BONUS*PASCE*AGNOS*GREGIS - The pitcher has a round stand with base and stands on 3 feet also in the shape of lions.
The entire body is decorated with engraved depictions of saints and coat of arms. It has a height of approx. 47 cm and a weight of approx. 5.5 kg.
On the bottom of the pitcher - interior - is an engraved depiction of the crucifixion of Jesus with 2 figures.
The pitcher has various stamps, 5 pieces - on the bottom - exterior. On the handle are also 2 stamps but they are indistinct (see last picture)
The pitcher will be shipped insured with DHL. Shipping costs increase by 15 € for shipping to the British/Canary Islands or French Overseas Territories . For the rest of Europe insured shipping for 39 Euro
