Description
Statue - Wood - Sukuma - Tanzania
2nd half 20th century - Good

Armless Sukuma Figurine, which is quite common for these sorts of sculptures.
Crusty patina. The rounded head presents a hole on the skull, used by the village chief and also by the sorcerer to make magic mixtures. The trunk is surrounded with fabric encrusted with brown matter.
The piece is of great sobriety.
