Antique Russian icon “Christ Pantocrator” with elaborately embossed brass oclad (protective cover) from around 1900, hand-painted with egg tempera colour on a wooden panel with chalk background. Typical method of icon production in 18th and 19th century Russia. The icon is in good condition and has typical age-related traces of wear (see photos). The painting (especially the face of the saint) has probably been restored several times (see photos). The back is covered with fabric.
