Description
Baccarat - Silver mounted cufflink box, Duke's crown !! c. 1860 - .950 silver, Crystal
France - Late 19th century

Beautiful cufflink box in crystal and sterling silver. Rectangular in shape, the box is made of Bacccarat crystal, the lid of solid silver.
Beautiful model in strong cut crystal, silver lid decorated with a large Louis XV rocaille cartouche engraved and marked with a PL monogram stamped with a Duke's crown. France, circa 1860-80.

Excellent condition, no dent on the silver or accident to the crystal.

A beautiful witness to the refinement of the aristocracy's art of living in the 19th century. While everyday objects decorated with count or marquis crowns are more common to find, ducal crowns are extremely rare (highest level in the "hierarchy" of nobility titles, under princes, kings and emperors).
Beautiful object, unique opportunity. Ideal for storing the everyday objects of a refined man: cufflinks, signet ring, watch and other small intimate objects.

Total silver weight: approx. 50 g with the mount of the box
Dimensions: 9.8 × 5.7 × 3.7 cm
