Ceramic figurine depicting Doc, one of the Seven Dwarfs of the Disney film. Signature at the bottom: Zaccagnini - Italy. 1940s ca. Polychrome ceramic with signs of ageing but in good condition, as per photos. Height 10 cm. Width approx. 7 cm. Trackable shipping. Ugo Zaccagnini (1868-1937), a former plaster maker at Ginori in Doccia, founded the Ugo Zaccagnini & Figli ceramic factory in 1905, later “Zaccagnini S.p.A.”. Walt Disney entrusted him the ceramic creation of characters from its cartoons. The Zaccagnini factory was present at the 7th Triennale di Milano in 1940. After World War II, Zaccagnini reopened and was commissioned to reproduce some ceramic ware, exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
