Ugo Zaccagnini (1868-1937), a former plaster maker at Ginori in Doccia, founded the Ugo Zaccagnini & Figli ceramic factory in 1905, later “Zaccagnini S.p.A.”. Walt Disney entrusted him the ceramic creation of characters from its cartoons. The Zaccagnini factory was present at the 7th Triennale di Milano in 1940. After World War II, Zaccagnini reopened and was commissioned to reproduce some ceramic ware, exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
