Sauceboat and its plate in porcelain of Paris, beautiful leafy handles, decoration of pink edgings. All the pieces have a beautiful JB monogram, late 19th century, circa 1880.
Louis Marie François Rihouët was born in 1791 into a wealthy family attached to the Duke of Orleans. He started his activity in 1818 and in 1824 he obtained the title of earthenware maker of the King. It was on this date that he relocated his establishment to 7, rue de la Paix. He retired from business in 1853 and sold his activity to Charles Lerosey who carried on under the Rihouët Lerosey brand until 1910. Our sauceboat dates from this last period between 1853 and 1910, circa 1880s.
