Roman Legionary bronze ring. Raised oval bezel engraved with Aquila wings, linear decorations on the shoulders and plain ring band.

The eagle was a powerful symbol to the Roman military. With each Roman legion a special eagle-bearer (aquilifer) had the honor of carrying the Legionary Eagle standard into battle and to guard its existence.

Outside diameter: 21 mm
Inside diameter: 17,3 x 19,4 mm

Condition: good solid condition, wearable. Signs of wear consistent with age and use. See images for own impression.
