Liturgical chalice - Silver + gilt bronze - First half 19th century

Gilded bronze and silver chalice, with Neoclassical style decorations in palmettes and acanthus leaves. The circular base is decorated with a laurel wreath, with crossed ribbon. The chalice belonged to the collection of the famous Cavaliere Luigi Rossi. The chalice was acquired in 1843. The acquisition date is engraved along with the owner's name under the base of the chalice. Shows signs of wear. Dimensions: Height 22.6 cm - base diameter 10.2 cm - cup diameter 8,5 cm It comes from an important ancient art collection in Florence.
