Two extremely rare liquor decanters by Émile Gallé. Only one is signed at the base: “Émile Gallé à Nancy, 2”. Ca. 1872.
With the similar design to those ordered in 1871 by Josephine Bowes, Countess of Montalbo after she discovered Gallé's work at the International Exhibition in London - seen in the book 'Gallé' by the Cultural Ministry for the museum of Luxembourg.
Acid-etched pearl decorations with acid-etched pearl monogram "DE".
In excellent condition. Some slight scratches / signs of wear as shown in pictures.
