United Kingdom - Richards - Single Shot - Percussion - Pistol - 16 bore

Description
United Kingdom - Richards - Single Shot - Percussion - Pistol - 16 bore
Excellent - Barrel is Smoothbore

Beautiful duelling pistol, or officers pistol, signed Richards (probably William Richards of Birmingham).
Stunning damascene barrel with Birmingham proof marks and masterful engravings on all parts except the barrel.
Appears to have been converted from flintlock to percussion, so year of manufacture could be anything from late 1700 to early 1800.
Altogether in very good condition, apart from a couple of percussion burn marks it looks like it has never been fired. The mechanism is crisp and distinct, and the bore is clean. The caliber is 16-bore, 22 mm (about .85 in american). The wood has a few dings from handling and a small crack by the muzzle, but is otherwise in very good condition. All screws are intact with sharp edges, and also engraved.
Please study the pictures to decide if this is the next addition to your collection, feel free to ask any questions about this pistol.
