Description
Currency - Black iron - Mumuye - Nigeria
Excellent

This African Primitive Currency is composed of two ringed iron sticks forming an arc of circle reminding a cord. The arc extends into snake-alike forms, provided with an arrow-tip. This object had currency value during the pre-colonial period in Nigeria (The Perfect Form, R. Ballarini, p.154).

All currencies, including some which reproduced tools of daily use, or even weapons, served to conclude transactions between individuals or tribes.
