Pair of French Officer FLINTLOCK NAVY pistols, VENDIMIÉRE AN XII ( 1803 ) pattern, in case. Brass barrels, slightly "tromblonné", in is end, eight fold, Brass garrisons with same martial decors . Checkered Walnut stocks ( restoration on the for end of one of the guns, hardly noticeable, SILVER inlaid on back and down foreend. Steel rods. strong springs, flint present,working fine in the two positions.
Made mainly for an wealthy NAVY officer to use in the in Napoleonic Armada.

In a Mahogany wood case ( same scratches on top) ,brass scutcheon, not used; with key ( this is not is original case). Interior lined with velvet "Bordeaux", compartmentalized, containing: Brass powder flask ; lubrificant bottle, unmarked; XIX century steel mold with cutter;apocryphal screwdriver with rosewood handle. Signs of use and facelifts.
