Description
Kings hats (4) - Raffia and Cowrie Shells - DR Congo
1st half 20th century - Good

4 Authentic and rare hats of the KUBA tribe.
2 King hats of one of the Kuba royals ( the NDOP ) from the 1940s and two hats of his subjects.
It is braided from Raffia and richly decorated with glass beads and cowry shells. The diameter is 18 cm, the height is 15 cm. The hats of the subjects do not have this rich decoration.
With this 4 there is already talk of a complete small collection!
From the private collection of the Belgian Ambassador to Mozambique with residence in Maputo in the 1950s. On his return to Belgium, he lived in Dalhem near Liège until his death. He owned a large and important collection of African art that is now partly in my possession.
His collection was stored on his estate for decades. The coming period several of its pieces will be auctioned. I also posted some pictures of the Governor. I can eventually e-mail these.
You will receive a CERTIFICATE with a picture, a description and an age attestation delivered by Africanart - Tribal Art.
Registered shipment with PostNL.
