A very good and rare set of 30 photographs taken during the 1900 World's Fair in Paris, the world fair at the turning point of the 20th century, right during the rise of Art Nouveau.
This set provides a rich testimony of this art in furniture, decoration, clothing, sculpture, the rise of industrial machinery, etc.
It also offers a huge panorama of the pavilions especially built for this event and many of which have since disappeared, especially along the Seine river.
Some rubbing marks on some photographs but in very good overall condition.
The photographs mention the name of the pavilion or the subject on the back, including a superb view of the Eiffel Tower with the old Palais du Trocadéro in the background, Old Paris along the Seine, steamboat on the Seine, Italian pavilion, industrial machinery, Champagne pavilion, the Greenhouses of Paris, the Grand Palais, Bosnian workers, the Alexandre III bridge, French crystal factory, palace on Rue des Nations, Hôtel des Invalides, etc...
A very interesting and exceptional set, with a minimum value of €1,000 euros, offered here without a reserve price, not to be missed.
