Max Modolo makes these ceramics in his studio in Italy.
His innovation concerns both the shape of the ceramic items and their finish.
He is very interested in the effects of ceramics and glazes obtained by some Italian artists such as Guido Gambone and Marcello Fantoni, and has always been attracted by the shapes created by Lucie Rie and Hans Coper.
Recently he became interested in the German ceramics of the '60s and '70s, known as Fat Lava ceramics.
