Vintage Tizio lamp designed by Richard Sapper in 1972 for Artemide.
It stands out for its system of joints without electric cables. A low voltage power supply is built into the lamp frame so there is no need for additional wiring. This lamp is on display at the MoMA precisely for this reason.
This model is part of a special series, signed on the arm.
The base (11 cm Ø) houses the built-in transformer that acts as a weight and keeps the lamp firmly in place. The lamp has a two-position switch for different light intensity.
Height 119 centimetres. The upper arm including the head is 73 cm long, the lower part of the arm, including the foot, measures 62 cm.
It shows small traces of wear and tear.
