Wonderful antique Karabagh rug.
Origin: the village of Karabagh Aria Shirvan, located near the South-Western shore of the Caspian Sea and the district of the same name in the Southern part of Azerbaijan. Production method: woollen warp and weft for the ancient rugs, wool or cotton for those produced between 1850 and 1930, and entirely cotton for modern production. The pile always is in close-cut wool. Modern production usually features a higher number of knots compared to older and ancient rugs.
