Lattimo is a kind of opaque white glass, invented in Murano around the middle of the 15th century in order to imitate the first popular porcelain in Europe. It is obtained by overlaying lattimo glass with one or more layers of soft, transparent coloured glass, creating wonderful objects with bright and intense colours.
‘Opaline’ vases are icons of Venini world. Vases with essential and refined lines, elegant and with no frills. Opaline was created by Paolo Venini in order to imprint the new neoclassical tone in glass.
