Louis-Albert Carvin (1875-1951) was a sculptor, an animalier primarily.
He studied with Gardet and Fremiet. A member of the Société des Artistes Français, he exhibited at the "Salon des Artists Français" from 1894 to 1933.
Medal of Honor in 1894.
He made "La muse de l'aviation", a bronze trophy, awarded on the 1st of May 1909 to Wilbur et Orville Wright on occasion of their acceptance by the Aéro-club de la Sarthe (le Mans, France).
Another of his works can be viewed in Clamart (Paris), Place de la Maison Blanche.
He has sculpted deer, lions, lionesses, panthers, birds, dogs (especially shepherd dogs, which are particularly sought after) and horses.
The sculpture is in excellent condition, the patina is original.
