Paris 1913.
The fashion world was inspired by the Wiener Werkstatte at the beginning of the century. The art deco style finds its roots there. This is clearly seen in this hand coloured etching that appeared in the luxurious numbered fashion edition in 1913. That's over 10 years before the Exposition des arts decoratives, where the name Art Deco comes from.
George Barbier is the most famous of these illustrators who contributed to this edition.
